Carol retold a story of her Boy Scout troop raising money to have the bridge built back in the 1960s. The joy on her face was contagious as she smiled with glee revisiting the memories she held so dear here at the Belfast City Park. Once across the bridge, Carol sat in her wheelchair chatting about the fun she had with children at the magical City Park.
It's strange to think my children and I have walked across the bridge so many times and never realized the significance it holds. Never again will I cross this bridge without thinking of Carol and her contagious smile. She brought joy to my life, just by walking through one of her precious memories with me. I hope by sharing this story with all of you, it brings you happiness and encourages you to take a stroll through Belfast City Park.
Thank you, Carol, for sharing your memories with all of us.
